LFP batteries are a class of lithium-ion rechargeable batteries based on LiFePO4 cathode material. They are especially well-suited to powering electrically driven systems, where charge and discharge rates can vary significantly. LFP cells and batteries reduce weight by increasing the electrolyte volume compared to standard Lithium-ion systems while maintaining high energy density, which is achieved by using high cell voltages (3.2–3.6 V nominal).
